...there was a small girl and an even smaller pencil. The girl and the pencil had great adventures together, creating faraway lands and mystical beasties. The girl grew up and, for a while, adult life stopped the journeys she had travelled with her sidekick. Until one day, when she picked up the pencil again and started drawing...

Shona McQuillan is a self taught artist based in Birmingham, UK. Predominantly working in pencil, her focus on nature and the female form is wrapped up in that which lie beneath the often faraway expressions her subjects have.
